Yerablur Cemetery

November 10, 2020 / Yerevan, Armenia -

In this trying time for our nation, it is important to remember our fallen heroes who believed to their core in the spirit and ideals of Armenia and Artsakh.

Grieving relatives of the soldiers killed in the final days of the war mourn the loss of their loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their homeland. All fallen soldiers of Armenia are buried at Yerablur Cemetery in Yerevan, the pantheon of the nation’s heroes.

A family of mourners, overcome with sorrow, grieves for the loss of their child as a backhoe behind them continues the grim task of preparing new graves for the many soldiers who died in the final days of the war.

This man, dressed in a military camouflage uniform, stopped at nearly every one of the new grave sites to pay respect to the fallen soldiers. The haze from the many urns of burning incense clouded the air in the background. (He asked to remain anonymous and gave no details about his military background.)

Tribute to a hero not yet 20 years old.
